The proposed Fotla field development is a new development which will comprise two production wells connected to a subsea manifold and tied back to the existing Britannia platforms via a new production pipeline.
The Fotla field is located in the Central North Sea within UKCS Block 22/1b c. 176 km to the east of Peterhead, Scotland and 46 km to the west of the UK/Norway transboundary line. The Norwegian coastline lies 265 km to the east.
The Harbour Energy operated Britannia platform and Bridged Linked Platform (BLP) are located 13.5 km to the north of the Fotla field in UKCS Block 16/26. At present, the Britannia Platform and BLP process fluids from a number of fields that make up the Greater Britannia Area, these include the Britannia, Brodgar, Callanish, Enochdhu, Finlaggan and Alder fields. All processing of the produced Fotla fluids will be carried out at the Britannia platforms with the Fotla subsea pipeline system delivering produced fluids directly to the Britannia BLP.
Produced fluids will be processed through existing topsides facilities currently handling production from the Alder field. These topside facilities will be adapted and upgraded to facilitate the Fotla production fluids. Gas lift will be provided to the Fotla wells from the Britannia platform.

Please note the public consultation will close on 1st February 2026.
