Hurricane

The Hurricane discovery was made 10 km west of the Stella discovery by well 29/10-4Z in 1995.  The accumulation now lies in Block 29/10b which was awarded to Ithaca in the 25th UKCS Licensing Round.  The well (29/10-4Z) encountered a 76 ft thick Palaeocene channel sand that exhibited a well defined oil water contact and excellent reservoir properties.  Light oil with associated gas was sampled during the logging program and, assisted by strong seismic amplitude anomalies; Sproule has given the accumulation a gross 3P reserves volume of 13.1 mmboe.  Accelerated appraisal and development of the Hurricane discovery is being planned to coincide with the development of Stella and Harrier through the sub-sea Greater Stella Area Hub at Stella.  First Oil from Hurricane is being planned for Q3 2013.
