Jacky

Ithaca acquired block 12/21c in the 23rd Licensing Round which contained the previously drilled 12/21-2 well. This well was abandoned after encountering 9 feet of oil over water in the sands similar to those producing within the Beatrice field. Detailed review of 3-D seismic indicated that there was a significant potential higher than, but associated with the accumulation in the 12/21-2 well. Ithaca and partners drilled the 12/21c-6 well in April, 2007 which encountered oil-bearing Beatrice sands at 6,729 feet true vertical depth, 175 feet above the oil in 12/21-2, as predicted. The well established a 180 foot column of oil with 32 feet of net pay and defined the Jacky oilfield. The fluid pressures were found to be more than 200 psi higher than the pressures measured in 12/21-2, indicating support from the Beatrice water injection program and thus connection within the aquifer between Jacky and Beatrice. Ithaca holds 47.5% in the Jacky Field.

A monotower production platform has installed over the well drilled in 2007 by Ithaca (12/21c-6) and modifications to the Beatrice Alpha facility have been completed, providing the export route. Jacky came on stream on April 6, 2009. Initial production rates were just below 9,000 bopd (37 degree API oil) under free flow. Reservoir conditions have now stabilised and the pre-installed down-hole pump (ESP) is now running and providing production rates in excess of 10,000 bopd. The field has been developed using one production well and one water injector well completed in 2009.
